The first 1/2 mile is through Greenbush, following the orange cones. At the edge of town, runners will take the connector trail (blue blazes) for about 1.5 miles to the Ice Age Trail, turning right and taking the IAT south (yellow blazes). 50K runners will stay on the IAT until the turn-around point; 50 Mile runners will stay on the IAT until the New Fane trails, following those trails about 1/2 mile to the turn-around point.
All trail intersections will be marked with pink flagging, with arrows added at turns as needed. Sections of trail between intersections will NOT have flagging, as the IAT has regularly spaced permanent posts, with yellow blazes.
